CCO Workshop 2024

 

 

The CCO Workshop is a one-day conference whose goal is to facilitate open and transparent conversation between all parties in the construction industry. 

The CCO Workshop on February 8th, 2024, hosted by the Southern Interior Construction Association, emerged as a pivotal event uniting contractors, consultants, and public owners in the construction industry. With a diverse range of topics and presenters, attendees praised the workshop for its informative and well-presented content. The first session on generative AI and digitization in construction sparked thoughtful discussions about efficiency and production improvements, with participants expressing enthusiasm for taking actionable steps.

Keynote speaker Dr. Shimi Kang's presentation on "The Future-Ready Mind" garnered widespread acclaim, resonating with attendees as a popular and important topic. Reviews described it as an excellent, engaging presentation with plenty of takeaways for reducing daily stresses and anxieties in the industry. Other speakers, such as Katy Fairley, were commended for their humor, knowledge, and effective presentation styles, emphasizing the importance of diligence in reading contracts.

The panel discussion on ideal project outcomes with better drawings stimulated good discussions and strategic insights, earning praise for addressing crucial points. The legal update segment, featuring real-world examples of agreement impacts, proved to be interesting and informative, with attendees appreciating the inclusion of case studies. Overall, the CCO Workshop left a lasting impression as a platform for diverse insights and practical takeaways, demonstrating the industry's commitment to resilience, collaboration, and innovation.

This fund is a tribute to the individuals who tragically lost their lives from the Brooklyn Site Incident on July 12th, 2021. It’s no exaggeration to say the global economy has been paralyzed by the pandemic. Fortunately for many Canadians, the construction industry was one of the few beacons in an otherwise slow economy greatly inhibited by COVID-19. Of course, the many forms of construction activity couldn’t forge ahead frivolously – social distancing, rigorous cleaning protocols and an abundance of caution were the norm on work sites everywhere, and it’s clear these methods will continue in the months ahead.
