SICA Contractor's Breakfast 2024
As we wrap up the SICA Contractor Breakfast 2024, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all attendees for making it a remarkable event. We're especially grateful to BCCA for their sponsorship, contributing to its success. Congratulations to Acres for receiving the 2024 Leadership Award for the Southern Interior region.
Highlight moments from the breakfast:
Hayley Dean and Francesca Loehr accepted the Leadership Award on behalf of Acres Enterprises Ltd., acknowledging Acres's dedication to inclusivity and adherence to core values. Their active promotion of women in trades, maintenance of a safe and respectful workplace, and support for community initiatives such as Heavy Metal Rocks highlight their commitment. With 18% female representation in the workforce, Acres places a premium on employee well-being and fostering a healthy work-life balance.
We extend our thanks to Sudhir Nair, OHS Consultant from WorkSafeBC, for his insightful discussion on Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, improving safety culture, and preventing workplace injuries.

Joy Magnell cordially invites guests to consider becoming mentors or advocates for the Building Builders program. Mentors have not only aided mentees in attaining their aspirations but have also facilitated pathways to careers in trades such as welding, plumbing, and electrical apprenticeships. This initiative serves as an invaluable opportunity for companies to engage with and support aspiring individuals seeking to commence or progress within the construction industry.
