Trap & Skeet 2023 Wrap-up
Our annual Kamloops Trap & Skeet Event was on target again this year! We had a great night – nice weather, limited mosquitoes, tasty food, and fabulous company. It was a truly fun night – especially for those trying the “FUN” station, with lots of hooting and hollering by the shooters!
THANK YOU so much to our sponsors:
EMCO Waterworks Corporation graciously sponsored our appetizers for the event. Everyone enjoyed snacking, visiting, and watching the other shooters.
Inland Glass & Aluminum for Best Shot: We had two shooters with perfect scores for the men, so it came down to a shoot-off for first place! Erik Giesbrecht of D&T Developments faced off against Blake Ballard of The Tunneling Company in a doubles contest (2 clays thrown out, 5 rounds). It was close, but Blake managed to edge out Eric. Congratulations to both of you for some very fine shooting!
Stacey Vincent of Secure-Rite Mobile Storage took first place for the ladies, and Dayna Goochey of Acres Enterprises took the Women’s Runner Up for the second year in a row (that girl can shoot!!). Congratulations to Stacey and Dayna, we look forward to seeing your scores next year.
Thank you to all our participants, without you this event wouldn’t happen (so make sure you sign up again next year!). We can’t thank the wonderful volunteers from the Shotgun Sports Club or the Kamloops Paddlewheelers Lions Club enough. The tips and assistance the Sports Club guys provide make this event so much more rewarding for novice and experienced shooters – and they love seeing our shooters nail the target. The Paddlewheelers make sure no one goes hungry, keeping the appetizer table refreshed, serving the sides, and joking with the members. Thank you all for making this event successful year after year, and for helping us put on this unique event.
