Energy Safety Canada (ESC) Hydrogen Sulphide Training - H2S Alive course covers the physical properties and health hazards of H2S, how to protect oneself and basic rescue techniques. Each student is required to operate a self-contained breathing apparatus, a detector tube device, and perform rescue breathing.
Course Content:
- H2S properties and Initial Response Strategy
- Respiratory protective equipment
- Gas detection and monitoring
- Rescue techniques and rescue breathing
- Sample case studies
- Written test

Please Note:
- Participants must be able to put on a mask and breathe under air
- Participants must be able to participate in rescue drag techniques
- It is recommended that comfortable clothes are worn.
- Basic literacy and understanding in the language the course is being taught is required
- Students must be on time and present for all course content instruction. Students who miss any course content cannot be certified and registration fees will not be reimbursed, as per the Cancellation Policy
- Government-issued ID is required.
